Özet:
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a common metabolic disorder that increasing the
number of patients day by day. Although insulin, as well as oral hypoglycemic drugs
are still the most important agents in treating the DM. Studies searching for a more
effective antidiabetic agents are being carried out continuously. Based on that we aim
to investigate the potential anti-diabetic effects of compound what is commercially
known as KR-62436. We determined non-toxic doses by cytotoxicity assays and we
used these doses to test some mechanisms involved glucose metabolism. We tested
insülin secretion in BTC6 cell line. We can not determined a significant differences
between the absorbance values of SODD-SOYD doses and control-possitive control
(glibenclamide). It concluded that KR-62436 does not trigger the insulin secretion.
Glucose utilization is tested in C2C12, 3T3L1 and Chang cell lines. The results show
that KR-62436 compound has not anti-diabetic effect. But glucose homeostasis and
insulin pathway are controlled by several mechanisms. Based on this reason, if we
study other pathways or enzymatic activities, have access to accurate results.
