Abstract

The exponential increase of microplastics in water resources is a significant concern that humanity has encountered in recent years. According to reports from international authorities, Turkey consistently ranks among the top three countries in terms of releasing a significant quantity of trash into the Mediterranean. These studies solely take into account the quantity of pollutants, without considering the exact composition or characteristics of such pollutants. This study focuses on the creation of an affordable, portable, and quick-acting device designed to identify, quantify, and categorize various types of microplastics found in water.
