Abstract

In this paper, Variational Iteration Method (VIM) is applied for finding buckling loads of a tilted buckled column with varying flexural rigidity, which is an important engineering problem in structural analysis and design considerations. In the cases where determination of exact solutions of tilt-buckling problems may not be possible, usage of this new technique will give researchers a powerful tool for determining them. This study shows the efficiency of the method and accuracy of the resulting analytic approximate solution for the problem.
