Consumers face several choices when purchasing a washing machine, a modern necessity. They expect washing machines to be durable, offer a variety of programs, and be competitively priced, given the wide range of brands and models available. Research indicates that washing textiles has the greatest environmental impact after the production of raw materials. Therefore, it is crucial to choose a washing machine that balances environmental impact, usability, and cost. This study utilized the CODAS (Combination Distance-based Assessment) method to identify the best washing machine available in Turkey. Environmental impacts were analyzed using Simapro Software through a life cycle assessment. The Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) problem considered key factors such as cost, the number of programs, and environmental impact. According to the research findings, the HOOVER H3WS29TAME/1-17 emerged as the best option, followed by the GRUNDIG GPWM and ALTUS AL9103MD models.
