Özet

In this study, it was aimed to produce precipitated calcium carbonate particles from desulphurization gypsum

by using different bases in the presence of ultrasonication. The obtained products were characterizated using

instrumental analyses including XRF, XRD, BET, SEM, AFM, and particle size analyses. Experimental findings

indicate that the ultrasonication had a strong effect on the properties of obtained product. A mixture of vaterite

and calcite crystals in the product were observed in the presence of NH4 ions. However, the use of ultrasonic

power after the production resulted in a decrease in the proportion of vaterite crystals in the product. If the

ultrasonic power was applied during the production, only cubic calcite crystals were observed. If the ultrasonic

power was applied before the production, nano calcite crystals were produced in the presence of Na+ or K+

ions.
