Project Abstract

Goal: The proposed research will adopt a social representations framework (Moscovici, 1961/76) to investigate the way in which lay thinking on drone technology and armed drones in particular is structured in three countries - the UK, USA and Turkey. It will add to the small body of work (e.g. Crawford, Wiley & Ventresco, 2014; Walsh, 2014) which has examined the social construction of and support for armed drones in relation to psychological determinants and consequences.

Methods: Qualitative Data Analysis, Quantitative Analysis, collocational analysis
