The basic target in project design and fictionalizing process is supporting the VET Institutions to apply the required reforms in the
scope of 2011/2013 EU Modernization Agenda and Priority Areas. With the project, it will be ensured that the success of the relevant
institutions are increased, the VET Quality and conformity will be developed, and the struggles to improve quality will be reinforced
with the mobility and cross-border cooperation. In the scope of the project, it is also aimed that the active cooperation is developed
among the small and big-scale industrial institutions as well as VET institutions, industrial partnerships, local/regional structures, etc.,
which are outside the scope of VET educational institutions. With the curriculum that will be developed in the scope of the project, it
is planned that the present and newly-emerging needs of the labor force market, and the activities that will help the acquisition of
certain skills like entrepreneurship by new generation. Our project fictionalizes the activity axes that take the virtual mobility as the
basis, which are integrated with a global strategy for the integration of information and communication technologies in higher
educational institutions at an efficient manner. Our horizontal priority axis, which is selected in the scope of the project, is:
“Empowering the key competencies in vocational education curriculum”, and the VET area, which was selected to develop the
curriculum and pilot applications. This is the application of the “Advanced Embodiment Design (AED)” in the Industrial Design/
Computer Assisted Design process. Designingmeans all the efforts spent on the way leading to cover the desires in the most
possible manner. Design is based on scientific opinions and laws, and influences the human life, and develops with specific
experience, and requires professional integration and responsibility. Although there are many different design methods in today’s
world, the “trial and error” method is applied in the process of developing new products in industrial area of our country especially in
businesses at SME level. This method increases time and costs. In the field of Industrial and Machinery Design, systematic-based
design methods are used in developed European countries, and original and adaptive products are developed with these methods.
One of these methods is the AED Method. This design methodology is used widely in European countries in projects that are run
with mutual operations with Industrial Institutionsand at undergraduate and especially Post-Graduate level at universities. Designers
may reach the ideal solutions with these methods from the initial points in a systematic way, and do not experience loss of time and
cost. Delft TU and Politechnic Di Milano universities, which are our project partners, have an important knowledge and experience
on this topic. Solutions for Industrial/Machinery Design problems will be developed by making use of this knowledge and
experience. In the scope of the project, 3D Rapid Prototype is an important technology in terms of applying the function tests and
visual tests, and pre-production works of the products developed with the AED Technology. Rapid Prototype solutions in the field of
design, which have been determined as thekey competences, will be an important VET Approach in the EU. In this scope, the gaps
and solution expectations in VEP Process are defined.
